Isaiah prophesies that God’s coming light will shine on a dark and broken land. The truth is our world is just as needy and troubled as it was when Jesus first entered our world as a baby. This passage gives us fresh hope and confidence that God is on the move. That God has taken decisive action to rescue us. As we await His coming this advent, our invitation is to bring our concerns before a wonderful counsellor. Our troubles before an almighty God. Our needs before an everlasting father and our anxieties before the prince of peace. That the goodness of His light might shine afresh into our troubled hearts!
