Our Values
Getting to know us – what we’re all about.
To help give you an idea of who we are as a church, we’ve outlined four of our key values below. This certainly isn’t an exhaustive list but it outlines the things that are important to us.
1. The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word and it speaks to us today. Everything we believe comes from seeing who God is through scripture.
We enjoy expositional preaching when going through books of the Bible or when exploring topical themes. We want to be a church described as ‘devoted to the apostle’s teaching’ like those in Acts 2.
2. Gospel
Jesus commissioned us to spread the good news of his life, death and resurrection. King’s Church was planted with a vision to see the lost found & prodigals coming home.
We are called to be a people who proclaim His Kingdom in word, deed and with signs and wonders. We want everyone to know that Jesus is our saviour and that they can know Him too.
3. Holy Spirit
We were made to glorify God, so we prioritise worshipping Him when we meet together, making space for the gifts of the Holy Spirit that we might be built up. We believe that God speaks and that God is the one who leads us.
We also emphasise that God is with us, not just on Sundays, but everywhere we go. God’s life and freedom are available for all believers and it’s our joy to share Him with others.
4. Diversity
King’s Church is called to be a diverse family made up of young and old, black & white, rich and poor. United in our love for Christ we are called to share our lives, to give to one another generously, to live justly and to build one another up in love.
Our mission is to be a disciple-making community, spurring one another on to become more like Jesus.
