Jesus is Lord

Media > Worship: Love, gifts & resurrection > Jesus is Lord

October 1, 2023

We start our new worship series in the book 1 Corinthians by coming back to the heart of worship. Our confession is that ‘Jesus is Lord’. And this is a work of the Holy Spirit. In church life it is easy to get distracted by many things, but the apostle Paul does not want us to be uninformed. True spirituality is built on the foundation of Christ Jesus being Lord of all!

Spiritual Gifts

12:1 Now concerning1 spiritual gifts,2 brothers,3 I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.

Footnotes

[1] 12:1 The expression Now concerning introduces a reply to a question in the Corinthians’ letter; see 7:1
